Bachman Aquatic Center

Project Description

The Bachman Aquatic Center is an addition and expansion to the existing Bachman Recreation Center facility. This aquatic center was designed as a regional aquatic facility which incorporates a larger program than the community level facilities. A regional aquatic center provides additional water features such as a “lazy” river, multiple water slides, and larger small children water apparatuses. The water facilities are supported by two buildings that support the aquatic center. The support building is 3,400 sqft including the pump and mechanical room, pool storage room, and large public restrooms. The second building at 1,200 sqft houses all the administration for the Aquatic Center including Ticketing, Lifeguard’s Room, Office, and Concessions.

This project is unique from other Dallas Aquatic Centers as it includes scope to add a “party” room bridging the existing recreation center’s indoor pool and the new outdoor aquatic center facilities. The city also add scope to add additional overhead doors to the existing indoor pool area to allow members to flow freely between the indoor and outdoor pool areas.
