Title: Project Designer, Interiors

Location: GSR Andrade Architects, Inc., 4121 Commerce Street, Suite One, Dallas, Texas 75226

Duties: Design and present drafts of interior design projects, including schematic design tasks and design development. Formulate designs that are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to a project’s intended purpose, such as raising productivity, selling merchandise, or improving lifestyle.  Confer with clients to determine factors affecting planning interior environments, such as architectural preference, purpose and function of the space to be designed. Work with other team members and partners to understand client requirements in order to plan and design projects. Work and coordinate with project managers, interior designers, and architects to ensure job success for assigned projects.  Work with the marketing team to assist in achieving marketing objectives of the design project. Use programming tools to create and manipulate documents and drawings.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design or related field and three years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.  Experience must include: 1) Three years of experience developing space planning test fits and drafting design plans that incorporate contemporary design, branding, environmental requirements, and ergonomics to carry out design for large projects, including Commercial, Healthcare, Retail, and Corporate interior design projects. 2) Three years of experience working with commercial architects to develop concept plans and schematic designs, including furniture layouts, ceiling and lighting plans, graphic/signage/ and branding concepts in compliance with required building codes and regulations. 3) Three years of experience preparing construction drawings (floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and details) and the required presentation documents (materials selection, presentation boards, etc.) and 2D/3D renderings and visualization building models using 2D/3D software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Illustrator, InDesign and PhotoShop. 4) Three years of experience incorporating LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) requirements into project designs. 5) Experience working with other team members, including project architects, to prepare Finish Submittals, client Requests For Information/Proposals, and Contractor Change Orders. 6) Experience working on remodels and retrofits. 7) Demonstrated experience preparing finish specifications and schedules and working with appropriate team members, spec writers, or technical directors on project manuals and installation methods. 8) Demonstrated experience working with architects and other consultants to develop design plans that incorporate architectural details and maintain design intent. 9) Demonstrated expertise and understanding of design process and experience producing design solutions in a short period of time that meets client expectations and budget requirements. 10) Demonstrated ability to understand and apply current design trends as it relates to the topological building types, e.g. medical, educational buildings, and commercial environments.
